The Big Decision

At some point in everyones lives, whether or not we are conscious of it, we are face to face with a decision.

This decision has the ability to affect the rest of our lives. Not to worry, we do have the power to change course at any time. However, many of us are completely unaware of this and end up settling for the life we have chosen. It is important to realize though, that we are not stuck with our previous choices and have complete control over WHERE we decide to go in the future.

The important thing to realize, I think, is that there are no wrong choices. Whatever you decide is neither the wrong or right choice. However, you WILL have to live with it and many times it is a sort of snowball effect in which more and more opportunities or obstacles will appear because of the initial decision.

For me, The Big Decision was that I can start over as many times as I want/need to. Now, obviously some things follow us no matter what (debt, STD’s, tattoos, children), but we seem to forget that many things are only existing simply because WE KEEP THEM ALIVE.

For example, the notion that you are bad with saving money. This may be true of past choices but at any point in your life, you can decide to be great at saving money. The issue is that up until NOW you have been bad at saving so you assume that you will always be that way. This is a huge mistake.

My decision to start over as much as I want changed my whole outlook on life.

I look at things as constantly changing and full of possibility. At one point in my life, this would have scared me. Now this challenges me to constantly be improving things I don’t love about my life and to find out what brings me true happiness.

Each day is a new day (cheesy as it sounds) and the reason to not change simply because you haven’t until now is a terrible excuse.

Become the person you want to be, it will probably take longer than an overnight thing but choosing to carry out your new habits/lifestyle is the perfect place to start.
